Beijing Broads

Beijing Broads was founded around 2015 in Beijing, creating an all-women ensemble with an international membership drawn from the US, Canada, Argentina, Estonia, the UK, Spain, and China. The company developed a distinctive hybrid format combining short-form improv with playback theatre, differentiating itself from other Beijing improv organisations. A commitment to social purpose shaped the company's identity from the outset: all proceeds from performances were donated to Educating Girls in Rural China, connecting the ensemble's improv work to a specific philanthropic mission.
