The company is notable for developing performers who went on to professional careers, most prominently actor Tatiana Maslany, who performed and toured with General Fools for seven years and became a certified improv instructor through the troupe.

History
General Fools Improvisational Theatre has been an active improv organization in Regina, Saskatchewan, with activity documented from at least the mid-1990s. The company competed in the Canadian Improv Games at a national level and was nominated at the Canadian Comedy Awards. Mike Fly served as Executive Director of the company before moving to CBC Television as an editor for the sketch series Baroness Von Sketch Show.

Tatiana Maslany, who went on to star in Orphan Black and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, performed with General Fools for approximately seven years beginning in her high school years and became a certified improv instructor through the troupe.
