Improvisto
Improvisto is a Central American theatrical improvisation company that has performed in major theatres across Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, and Chile, helping spread improvisation through the Spanish-speaking Americas.
History
Improvisto was founded in 2005 and developed a distinctly regional profile, building a touring presence across Venezuela, Costa Rica, Panama, and Chile rather than establishing itself primarily in a single national market. The company's work in multiple Spanish-speaking countries contributed to the spread of theatrical improvisation as an organised practice across Central America and parts of South America at a time when the form was still establishing itself outside Argentina and Chile.
Artistic Identity
Improvisto operates as a touring ensemble, building its identity through performance across national contexts rather than through fixed institutional presence in a single city.
Legacy
Improvisto's multi-country touring work contributed to the spread of theatrical improvisation across Central America and adjacent South American markets in the 2000s and 2010s.
