History
PICNIC was founded in Bogota in 2011 by former members of La Gata Impro and La Gata Cirko, bringing together practitioners with backgrounds in overlapping disciplines. The company developed a specialisation in transdisciplinary improvised theatre that crossed conventional genre boundaries, distinguishing its work from companies focused primarily on comedy improv. Alongside its artistic programme, PICNIC developed corporate workshop offerings and created the Monkey FEST, an international improv festival in Bogota that placed the Colombian capital on the regional improv circuit.
