The Assembly Mexico
Mexico City's long-form improv collective, founded in 2018 by Sara De Lille as the first international branch of The Assembly Toronto. The Assembly Mexico produces monthly shows, offers training and workshops, and provides corporate improv programs in both Spanish and English.
History
Sara De Lille founded The Assembly Mexico in 2018 as the first international branch of The Assembly, a Toronto-based long-form improv organization. De Lille brought the Assembly's community-building model and long-form game-based methodology to Mexico City, establishing a dedicated training and performance program in the capital. The Assembly Mexico produces monthly shows open to the public and has built a community of performers and students through its workshop curriculum. The organization provides corporate improv training alongside its performing and teaching activities.
Artistic Identity
The Assembly Mexico is committed to long-form, game-based improvisation as practiced in the Toronto Assembly tradition, emphasizing sustained ensemble scenes over short-form game structures. The company operates bilingually in Spanish and English, making its training accessible to Mexico City's diverse population of both local and international performers.
