FLUX is a multidisciplinary performing arts school founded in October 2019 by contemporary dancer and theatre practitioner Sahiba Singh, located in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Alongside programs in contemporary dance, aerial yoga, and expressive arts, FLUX offers a structured 50-hour Improv Foundation course that treats improvisation as both a performance discipline and a tool for personal development.
History
Sahiba Singh launched FLUX in October 2019 to address a gap in Bengaluru's arts education ecosystem, creating a space where multiple disciplines could coexist and inform each other. The school quickly established itself in the Indiranagar neighbourhood and expanded its programming across dance, drama, wellness, and improv. The improv curriculum at FLUX grew out of Singh's background as a theatre practitioner, and the 50-hour Improv Foundation course became one of the more structured improv training offerings in the city. FLUX adapted to online programming during the pandemic and has remained active since its opening.
Artistic Identity
FLUX approaches improv as an integral part of a broader performing arts and personal development curriculum rather than as a standalone comedy practice. The Improv Foundation course covers stage fright, confidence, empathy, and spontaneity alongside comedy and character work, reflecting Singh's belief that art facilitates systemic and personal change. This interdisciplinary context distinguishes FLUX from pure comedy improv troupes.
