The Improv Company was founded in Singapore in 2013, establishing itself as the country's dedicated improv institution at a time when Singapore's English-language performance scene was expanding. The company built training programmes and a regular production schedule, positioning itself as the regional hub for improv in Southeast Asia. Operating from Singapore's well-resourced arts infrastructure, the organisation developed both local talent and an audience for the form, contributing to a scene that subsequently grew to include Larks Improv Theatre and Luke Yu Comedy alongside it.
