A Dublin improv community space founded in 2022 by Neil Curran and Quinton O'Reilly, running weekly drop-in workshops on Monday evenings and shows on Saturday nights at The Teachers Club.
History
Neil Curran and Quinton O'Reilly founded The Improv Playground in Dublin in 2022. The organisation runs weekly drop-in improv workshops on Monday evenings and Saturday night shows at The Teachers Club. Curran also founded Lower the Tone and Improv Fest Ireland, making The Improv Playground his third Dublin improv institution. The drop-in format lowers barriers to participation for newcomers.
Artistic Identity
The Improv Playground operates as a community-access improv space, with the weekly drop-in format removing class enrollment barriers. The Monday and Saturday schedule creates regular touchpoints for both training and performance.
