Letter Number Name
Letter Number Name is a cognitive multi-tracking warm-up exercise in which participants move through a sequence cycling between three categories -- a letter of the alphabet, a number, and a proper name -- simultaneously advancing each sequence independently. The exercise disrupts automatic cognitive patterning, trains the ability to hold and advance multiple concurrent sequences, and activates the focused concentration required at the start of a rehearsal or workshop.
Concentration
Concentration is a category of focus-building exercises that challenge participants to maintain sustained attention amid distractions and competing demands. The exercises train participants to stay with a primary task while the environment introduces interruption, noise, or parallel activity. They are used in improv training to develop presence and in applied settings to explore how individuals and groups manage attention under pressure.
Harassment
Harassment exercises are scenario-based applied improv activities for recognizing, naming, and responding to harassment situations. Using role-play and improvisational skills, participants practice assertiveness, bystander intervention, and supportive responses to individuals experiencing harassment. The exercises make visible the dynamics of power, complicity, and bystander choice that typical compliance training addresses abstractly, and develop the specific language and physical confidence to act in real situations.
Identify Reactions
Identify Reactions exercises develop awareness of habitual patterns of response to specific stimuli -- the automatic emotional and behavioral reactions that occur before conscious reflection. Participants notice what triggers a response, what the response consists of physically and emotionally, and what space exists between stimulus and reaction. The exercises draw on mindfulness and applied improv practice to build the capacity to choose a response rather than enact a habitual one.
Firing Squad
Firing Squad is a scene game in which one performer faces a line of players who rapid-fire questions, challenges, or scene initiations. The solo performer must respond to each without hesitation. The exercise builds resilience under pressure and trains the ability to accept any offer instantly.
All Hands on Deck
All Hands on Deck is a group response exercise built around nautical commands. A caller shouts a series of shipboard orders and players must quickly perform the corresponding physical action or form the correct grouping. The exercise builds rapid-response focus, group coordination, and the ability to hold multiple rules simultaneously.
