Four-Chair Fishbowl
Four Chair Fishbowl is a facilitation technique in which four chairs are placed in the center of a larger group. The four center chairs hold a rotating conversation on a topic while all other participants observe. An open chair rule allows observers to enter the conversation by sitting in the empty seat, at which point another participant must leave to restore the open chair. The structure creates a dynamic, participatory discussion format that resists domination by any single voice.
You Are Creative
In groups of three, participants take turns speaking Gibberish, English, and translating between the two, discovering their inherent creativity.
Mind Meld
Mind Meld is a convergence exercise in which two players simultaneously say unrelated words, and the group then attempts to find a single word that connects the two. Players count down and speak at the same time, narrowing toward a shared answer through successive rounds of association. The exercise trains group mind, lateral thinking, and the trust required to commit to a choice without hesitation.
1-2-4-All
1-2-4-All is a full-group applied improvisation exercise that structures brainstorming in four quick stages: individual reflection, pairs, groups of four, and whole-group sharing. The format widens participation, speeds up idea generation, and gives quieter participants a defined route into the conversation.
